Gorgeous composition and design. A lot of fun to listen to. I'll definitely be trekking through your discography.

Thank you!! i hope you enjoy :)

Beautiful work.

Santi-Montali responds:

Thanks :)

Beautiful work.
Might like a bit more presence and warmth in the design and/or mixing of most instruments (aside from the flute), but goddamn do I love this composition.
I feel an emotional sense of growth and transition.

ZaazNG responds:

Thank you so much, Jacob :) I do agree, maybe because I'm kind of afraid of things becoming too disjointed and unbalanced, but gotta step out of that comfort zone, thank you for the tip! :)

I JUST WANNA PUNCH STUFF.

Great work keeping things moving without leaving the pocket.
The EQ, Compression, and Reverb result in a decent amount of mud, but that might make this easier to listen to on repeat.
This was a lot of fun!

nosoymaxi responds:

First of all, thank you for leaving your comment.
"I JUST WANNA PUNCH STUFF"... YEAH!! DAMN IT!! That's just what I was looking for. Today I can sleep happy.
You are right, the EQ, Compression, and Reverb result in a decent amount of mud, I made the track in a couple of hours to lend it out in time for the "pixel day 2022" event, so I just adjusted the volume a bit. This is not mixed and mastered properly.
Sorry for the delay of my response and thank you for your words. Comments like yours motivate me to continue composing.

Not gonna lie, that drop kinda slaps.

Spadezer responds:

It's probably my worst attempt at making a bad song on purpose. It helped me play around with different ideas that I think that I'll be using in the future for stuff like this

I can feel myself floating and soaring through the water. Discovering luminescent creatures, dancing past my friends, gazing as the rays of light shine through the water.

Beautiful work.

Everratic responds:

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you were able to visualize these things through the music - that's exactly what I tried to portray.

Love that break at 1:26, and the melodic vocals sound great!
Production is clean and clear, although there's a gradual dropoff after about 2kHz. Brightening up that end of the spectrum would add a lot of presence, but I kinda think I kinda prefer it this way. It's a lot less fatiguing, like easy listening heavy metal lol

Great to have you back, man.

Mexidancer responds:

Thanks dude 🤘

Love it!
It'd be cool if it gained some presence at some point, throwing in the bass and making things a bit more hi-fi. As it is, though, this is really pleasant background music. Sounds like it's being played by a small radio. Great groove with a clear, melodious mix. Perfect for low-level listening.

RealMrSnuggles responds:

Thanks Jacob! I made a hi-fi version if you are curious https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/928174

I love you.

Spadezer responds:

I love you too <3

Watch that bass and those low-mids, bruddah!
Sadly, I don't have time for a full NGUAC review right now, but I wanted to say how much I love the composition, here.
The production, however, needs work. Most of your levels are pretty good (although the lead is quiet, and the piano is buried), but the EQ is all outta wack.

I may come back with a more complete review later (or you can hit me up), but for now I recommend cutting the low end (below 80hz, maybe even higher) from everything but the bass and the kick. Then figure out where the kick needs to pop through (maybe 120hz or so? not sure), and give that a lil tiny boost, and carve the bass in the same spot. Then fix the levels so that the low end of the bass isn't so overpowering.
Lastly, find something like Bluecat Frequency Analyst, and take a look at how pumped the volume is 500hz and below, compared to the top half of the audible range. Figure out what to carve and turn down (or up) in order to give this track some breathing room, and you'll be on the right track.

Mad love for the funk here, man.

Desmae responds:

Thank you so much, this is really helpful.

It's all in your head.
