I love it, but...

This is a tad overrated. Thing is, people are mistaking the graphics for that of Flash. However, the Author's description notes that the most prominent aspects of the animation were done in 3DS, a much more advanced program in 3D animation. So, I find it incorrect to judge it on the same grounds as the typical 2D Flash animation.

That said, this really was a well done and original production, but there were some things that detracted from it too much to be enjoyed time and time again.

Firstly, the animation. Though incredibly smooth in most aspects, it felt awkward. I didn't feel like the characters had life to them. Though I do understand that is a typical flaw amongst 3DS productions, it really does need to be noted, because it made me have to try and appreciate the originality of the submission, rather than simply enjoy it.

Secondly, the speed. It felt oddly slowly paced, and yet everything went by so quickly. I feel like the fights should have been more fast-action, and that there should have been much more development in the battle. Also, we didn't really get to see the finalists until the end. I would have liked to see them as they go from beginning to end, flashing between one of them and then another miscellaneous character's battle until they both meet at the last arena. It would have given us more of an attachment, and a lot more suspense.

Lastly... the humor. Oh god, the humor. I'm really, truly sorry, but the humor ruined it for me. I can see where you were trying to go with it, but the jokes feel flat due to the aforementioned lack of character in each of the fighters. It didn't have the charm that the humor would usually have in the respective author's original submissions, because the characters weren't brought to life in the same way. Of course, that's just another detriment in using 3D rendering as opposed to Frame-by-Frame, so I can't knock you off much for it.

Don't get me wrong, this was fantastic, and I admire the immense effort that must have gone into its production. Given that you work on your artistic vision, giving life to your characters, and your comedic timing, I feel like you could really go somewhere with animation. This just seemed very adolescent as a submission. But hey, I can't exactly argue with a 4.72 rating. Congratulations on your success, and I look forward to seeing how you fair in the future.

Good job!

I liked it.

It wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen - but it was really worth the watch. Your choice of coloring was a tad off, and sort of made it too cartoony, but the overall art was still fantastic.

The entire story was pretty obvious from the beginning, though - except for the montage at the end. Good job on that little twist! Haha.

I think I like it.

I could have sworn your name said Asspro at the end.. Anyhow, this was great. Short, sweet, and totally satirical. Sure, it could have used a little more shading, expression, and FBF, but the script carried it pretty well on its own.

Great!

I wasn't actually going to review this.. until I read one of the preceding reviews. To repeat it in my own words: "Wow, I didn't see that coming! Though, despite some impressive graphics, the general outline of the humor was very predictable. I mean, It was seriously spontaneous and all (I really never would have expected that!), but I was expecting it the entire time. You really should have anticipated my indecisive clairvoyance, I mean seriously, get with it. It was good, though.. I guess...."

..what?!

Nice.

I did love this, and I have to admit that the majority of VBlogging is made up of unoriginal ignoramus.. but I have actually seen some good ones. I used to be a bit of a Phil DeFranco fan, actually. He brought up some interesting facts, every day, kept me up to date on some of the relevant news, and the only jump cuts he did were for subtle blooper inserts or to cut the pause time spaces to keep it going from fact to fact. It was a cool way to receive news that I wouldn't have otherwise in only three minutes while simultaneously being entertained. I liked it. =P Plus.. he did talk about the women in his thumbnails, and usually because he found them attractive - and there was a new story on them.

Regardless, this was a fun animation. The smooth cartoon style that each of your creations possesses is incredibly refreshing, and always leaves me contented; lovely work. 9/10 5/5

OH, YOU DICK.

FANTASTIC installment of WGJ4K. Honestly, I hadn't expected for this series to become any more than a little collection of cartoons.. but this is a new direction entirely. The spectrum for this series has broadened vastly, and you've finally put in the little narrative hook necessary to turn this from a mildly insignificant cartoon to an honest show. Sure, they'll still be short, but I've never been this plagued with anticipation by a Newgrounds movie. The ending was such a cliffhanger, though.. I'm excited to hear the story behind this one.

Hmm..

Here's the thing: The art was absolutely fantastic, and the voice acting was technically well done.. but I couldn't get into it. The only thing that compelled me to watch on was the art itself. The sound quality made the voices sound distant, which took away from the dramatic effect, and the storyline itself was pretty vague. I just don't like the way it was executed. However, I'm going to have to rate this an overall 5/5 for the animation itself. Everything was perfectly and professionally executed! That much of this was flawless, and I loved every moment of the art.

Absolutely fantastic.

This was amazing work. Sure, there's always room to improve, but you've reached a point past my observant expertise. The art, compared to any other independent Newgrounds flash, is rivaled by very few. However, the compilation of music, dull colors, and overall wonderful artistic vision made this a success. I'll definitely be watching this again now, and several times more in the future.

Not too bad.

I'm amazed that you didn't pass on Wurmy1029 and Vincoid. Upon viewing those two, I was sure that they'd be standing off in the finals. Granted, Doomshock was right up there with them, but I found that he didn't have much of a variety. It seemed that he specified in one form of layout. His characters did move fairly realistically, though. Regardless, Wurmy and Vincoid were easily the top competitors.

It's all in your head.
